The laser blade triangulation technique allows for the acquisition of profiles starting from single pieces or continuous production (drawing, for instance). The profiles can be analyzed directly to search for defects and inhomogeneities, or composed in 3D surfaces to check characteristics that are difficult to see with traditional vision such as differences in inclinations, roughness and volumes. This technique can be applied alone or in support of traditional 2D analyses to expand the range of possible controls, for example on the Saturno sorting machines.
